Application Process
- Log in to your ABOG portal.
- Applications are only accepted online and will be made available in your ABOG portal. Additional fees will be assessed for late applications. See important deadlines and fees here.
- You will need to pay the Certifying Examination application fee in full by credit card at the time of the application. All fees are quoted and must be paid in US dollars. The application fee for the Certifying Examination will not be refunded or credited against a future exam.
- You are required to complete the Hospital Privileges Verification Form which will be available on the candidate's portal after the application is submitted. Applications will not be reviewed until the completed Hospital Privileges Verification Form(s) is uploaded to the candidate's ABOG portal.
- If you're a fellow, this form can be completed by your fellowship director.
- Candidates who will be lactating at the time of the examination or require an accommodation for disability must notify the ABOG office at the time of application and no later than the close of the application period. Candidates who will be lactating at the time of the examination will be scheduled to use one of the wellness rooms on a first come, first served basis. - If the application, licensure, and privileges are acceptable after review by ABOG, you will receive an approval notification. The approval notification will include details to submit properly formatted case lists electronically and to pay the examination fee. The required examination fee is separate from the fee submitted at the time of application.
